Crews Battle Working Fire at 2-Story Home in Lusby, Residents Evacuated

LUSBY, Md. — Firefighters in Calvert County were dispatched to the 11900 block of Hemlock Road on Saturday afternoon, July 12, 2025 after reports of a residential structure fire with flames showing through the roof.
The call came in just after 1:30 p.m., prompting a working fire dispatch to the scene. Upon arrival, crews encountered a fully involved two-story dwelling with active fire breaching the roofline. Units initiated an aggressive fire attack as residents were confirmed to be evacuating safely.
Multiple mutual aid units responded as flames spread rapidly through the upper floors. The extent of structural damage and potential injuries has not been confirmed at this time.
