UPDATE – September 29, 2025: St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect and issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder charges. The official investigation reveals this was a stabbing-only incident between two people who knew each other, correcting initial emergency dispatch reports that indicated a vehicle strike had also occurred.
Delanta Darius Robertson, 21, of Baltimore, is wanted on charges of attempted second-degree murder and attempted first- and second-degree assault. Robertson fled on foot before deputies arrived and remains at large. He is described as a Black male with dark skin and a full dark beard, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black athletic pants and a black T-shirt.
The incident occurred around 5:17 p.m. on September 27, 2025, in the 21000 block of Essex Drive following an ongoing dispute between Robertson and the victim that escalated throughout the day. The suspected weapon was recovered at the scene. The victim remains in critical but stable condition at an area trauma center.
Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a personal conflict and does not pose a risk to the surrounding community. Anyone with information on Robertson’s whereabouts should call 301-475-8008. LEXINGTON PARK, Md. September 27, 2025 8:20 pm EDT — A person was critically injured Saturday evening in an incident indicative of potential violence on North Essex Drive that involved both a vehicle strike and multiple stab wounds. Maryland State Police helicopter responded to transport the victim, who sustained stab wounds to the chest and side in what appears to be a coordinated assault.
The Lexington Park attack occurred around 5:24 p.m. on September 27, 2025, at a North Essex Drive address near the intersection of Hancock Road and Enterprise Drive. According to dispatch, the incident initially appeared as a motor vehicle accident with injuries but quickly escalated when responders discovered the victim had also been stabbed multiple times.
EMS received reports that “someone got hit by a car” Additionally, police on scene confirmed the victim sustained stab wounds to the chest and side areas. The combination of vehicle impact and stabbing injuries prompted immediate Priority 1 medical response protocols.
Multiple St. Mary’s County emergency units responded. Furthermore, the scene was initially deemed not secure, requiring police presence before emergency medical crews could safely approach the victim.
Emergency crews worked to stabilize the critically injured victim for emergency transport. The combination of traumatic injuries from both vehicle impact and multiple stab wounds required immediate trauma center care.
The Lexington Park attack raises serious questions about whether this was a coordinated assault or separate random incidents. The cause and circumstances of both the vehicle collision and stabbing attack remain under investigation. Police have not released information about potential suspects or whether anyone is in custody.
