Lexington Park Stabbing Suspect Wanted for Attempted Murder

UPDATE – September 29, 2025: St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect and issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder charges. The official investigation reveals this was a stabbing-only incident between two people who knew each other, correcting initial emergency dispatch reports that indicated a vehicle strike had also occurred.

Delanta Darius Robertson, 21, of Baltimore, is wanted on charges of attempted second-degree murder and attempted first- and second-degree assault. Robertson fled on foot before deputies arrived and remains at large. He is described as a Black male with dark skin and a full dark beard, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black athletic pants and a black T-shirt.

The incident occurred around 5:17 p.m. on September 27, 2025, in the 21000 block of Essex Drive following an ongoing dispute between Robertson and the victim that escalated throughout the day. The suspected weapon was recovered at the scene. The victim remains in critical but stable condition at an area trauma center.

Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a personal conflict and does not pose a risk to the surrounding community. Anyone with information on Robertson’s whereabouts should call 301-475-8008. Detective Helen Deitrich can be reached at 301-475-4200, ext. 8066, or Helen.Deitrich@stmaryscountymd.gov.
