Cobb Island Gears Up For Day Of Parades, Music, And Community Spirit

COBB ISLAND, Md. – This Saturday, June 14, the small but spirited island community of Cobb Island will burst to life with the annual celebration known as Cobb Island Day — a full-day festival blending tradition, music, and hometown charm.

The festivities begin at 11 a.m. sharp with a lively parade down the island’s main thoroughfare, where residents and visitors alike are expected to line the route, cheering on floats, classic cars, and community groups. But the excitement doesn’t stop there — a DJ will spin upbeat tracks throughout the day, creating a festive backdrop for islanders exploring vendor booths brimming with local crafts, food, and family activities.

“This is the day we all look forward to — where the entire island comes together,” one organizer said. “It’s a chance to celebrate who we are.”

Cobb Island Day wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of more than 40 local sponsors, ranging from beloved eateries like Captain John’s Crab House and Bubba’s Place to small businesses and individual families. Their contributions help transform the island’s central field into a hub of food, laughter, games, and connection.

Organizers encourage families to come early, bring friends, and plan to stay late. After all, for Cobb Island residents, this isn’t just an event — it’s a tradition.
