CALLAWAY, Md., – Authorities responded to the parking lot of the Dollar General in Callaway on Saturday morning, where a deceased individual was found inside a parked vehicle.
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a death investigation is underway, though no foul play is suspected. Preliminary findings indicate the cause appears to be natural.
Deputies responded to the scene on the morning of May 10. Yellow tape cordoned off the front parking area of the store while law enforcement and emergency medical crews remained on scene.
Attempts to contact store management were unsuccessful. The parking lot remained taped off through late morning hours as investigators worked the scene.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
