Garage Fire Contained Quickly In Waldorf, No Injuries Reported

WALDORF, Md. — Firefighters responded to a garage fire Tuesday afternoon in Waldorf that sent smoke billowing from a single-story home but was quickly brought under control without any injuries.

The incident occurred on June 3, 2025, around 1:46 p.m. at a residence in the 2300 block of Pinefield Road. Initial 911 callers reported smoke pouring from the garage, prompting a working fire dispatch and evacuation of the home. Units arriving on scene confirmed heavy smoke and initiated an aggressive interior attack.

Crews from multiple stations, including Truck 3 and Engine 840, worked to access the garage and extinguish the flames. The fire was confined to the garage, with no extension into the main living area of the home. Occupants had safely evacuated prior to firefighters’ arrival.

By 2:01 p.m., responders reported the fire was out and began checking for extension. A secondary search confirmed no fire had spread into the living room, and ventilation operations were conducted at the rear of the home to clear residual smoke.

Command began scaling back the incident shortly after 2:20 p.m., releasing non-essential units. Three units remained on scene alongside Rescue Engine 12 to assist with overhaul and await the arrival of the Maryland State Fire Marshal, who was notified to investigate.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
