Large Tree Crashes Onto Car In California, Md.; Occupants Escape With No Injuries

CALIFORNIA, Md. – Emergency crews responded Tuesday evening after a large tree fell onto a vehicle in the area of Saint Andrews Church Road and Wildewood Parkway.

The incident was reported around 5:50 p.m. on May 13. Upon arrival, first responders found the occupants had safely exited the vehicle and were uninjured.

Due to the tree’s size, the Maryland State Highway Administration was requested to assist with removal using heavy equipment. SMECO was also called to address low-hanging power lines in the area.

Motorists were advised to use caution and expect delays while crews worked to clear the scene.
