Police Arrest Two Men In Connection To Prince George’s County Murder

OXON HILL, Md. – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged two men in connection to a fatal shooting in Oxon Hill. The suspects are 33-year-old Maverick Miller of Oxon Hill and 31-year-old Jujuan Hunter of Clinton. They are charged with the murder of 45-year-old Tyrone Jones of Washington, DC.

On July 6, 2024, at approximately 10:00 am, officers responded to the 800 block of Southern Avenue for a shooting. Officers located Jones in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The preliminary investigation revealed the shooting stemmed from a dispute. The victim and suspects were known to each other.

Miller and Hunter are both charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
