Rider Airlifted To Trauma Center After Four-Wheeler Crash In Indian Head

INDIAN HEAD, Md. — A 36-year-old man was airlifted to a trauma center Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, after crashing a four-wheeler along Chicamuxen Road.

The crash was reported around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Chicamuxen Road and Reverdy Farm Road. The rider’s girlfriend called 911, telling operators her boyfriend had wrecked the ATV and was injured but conscious.

Fire and EMS crews from multiple stations responded, setting up a landing zone as Maryland State Police Aviation Command’s Trooper 7 was dispatched to the scene. The patient was flown to MedStar Washington Hospital Center with injuries described as serious but not immediately life-threatening.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
