As The White Lotus season 3 has received 23 Emmy nominations, Mike White’s drama offers Walton Goggins the opportunity to end his 14-year losing streak. The actor is best recognized for his appearances in Justified, The Righteous Gemstones, Fallout, and Sons of Anarchy. Goggins then joined the ensemble cast of The White Lotus season 3, portraying Rick Hatchett.

In the third season, Rick checks into the Koh Samui branch of the titular resort chain alongside his young girlfriend Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood). In 2024, Goggins was once more recognized by the Emmys, this time as an outstanding lead dramatic actor for his portrayal of Fallout‘s the Ghoul. The hit video game adaptation sees Goggins as a disfigured post-apocalyptic bounty hunter. If you only know Walton Goggins as Rick Hatchett in The White Lotus season 3, do yourself a favor and watch his HBO comedy series from 2019.

Despite these past setbacks, Goggins has a good chance among 2025’s supporting actor nominations. Alongside Isaacs and Rockwell, Goggins will be competing with Severence‘s Zach Cherry, John Turturro, and Tramell Tillman, and Paradise‘s James Marsden. Goggins Will Return To Screens In December 2025

Furthermore, Goggins’ Emmy success is likely to continue into next year as well, as the actor is set to return as the Ghoul in December 2025 for Fallout season 2. With the second season seemingly setting up Goggins for a more prominent role, the actor will have more opportunities to shine.

In Fallout season 1, while the Ghoul tracks down Vault dweller Lucy (Ella Purnell) in the post-war storyline, glimpses back to his pre-war life are also shown. There, it is revealed that the Ghoul was once Cooper Howard, an aging actor and Vault-Tec spokesman.

Fallout Season 1 ends with audiences witnessing that Cooper’s wife, Barb Howard (Frances Turner), had a hand in bringing about the apocalypse. The aftermath of this reveal means Goggins’ character will have a great storyline in season 2, and with him having already been recognized for season 1, likely, he will likely also emerge as a nominee again.

However, regardless of whether Goggins wins for The White Lotus or his potential nomination for Fallout season 2, his recognition by the ceremony’s organizers is proof enough of his talent. For two years in a row, the actor has earned acclaim from both viewers and the industry itself, making him one of Hollywood’s most exciting active actors.
