What does the Geno Smith Trade tell us about the Quarterback market?

Geno Smith was traded Friday afternoon to the Las Vegas Raiders from the Seattle Seahawks for a 2025 third round pick. I will explain what this trade tell us about the Quarterback market headed into Monday Free Agency period.
The Geno Smith Trade tells us a few things. For one, the Las Vegas Raiders were in the market for NFL caliber starter that they can build around. Also, per reports, the Las Vegas Raiders are willing to pay Smith the $45 million per year he is requesting.
Secondly, how will the Minnesota Vikings handle their quarterback situation? Minnesota bought in Daniel Jones late last season. Not to mention they will have JJ McCarthy back in the fold in 2025 coming off an injury. So the competition for their starting quarterback will be determined in camp.
Next, Aaron Rodgers will be a player to keep a close eye on as teams such as the Giants, Seahawks and Vikings look elsewhere for quarterback help.
Lastly, The Seattle Seahawks. They are favorites to now land Sam Darnold. Coming off an impressive 2024 season leading the Minnesota Vikings to a 14-3 season. But for the Seahawks, I believe they should go the young quarterback route after releasing Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf requesting a trade early in the week.
Not to mention, the Pittsburgh Steelers are a Wild Card in all of this quarterback free agency class. So keep the Steelers in mind. Also, the fun part in all of this: Geno Smith reunites with Pete Carroll in Las Vegas.
